Hi there, thanks for your comment. I realize that my wording in this paragraph is a little confusing and should have been written differently. I will edit it so that hopefully it makes more sense. I didn't mean that the line should be drawn from your perspective to the sun first and then back to the Earth. I simply meant that you should be able to draw a straight line that goes from yourself to the sun and also intersects with some part of the Earth in the course of that one straight line. In referencing the flat Earth I was pointing out that you can't make that straight line because the sun is always rotating overhead, and so you can't draw one straight line up to the sun and then back down to the Earth, since of course that wouldn't be a straight line.
